How many dog treats should I give my dog?

Dog treats are a great training and relationship-building tool however they are usually high-calorie; therefore it’s important to ensure that treats make up no more than 10% of your dog’s daily calorie intake.

Are there any other ways to reinforce good behaviour?

If you’re training your dog you may find that you can’t always rely on a tasty treat to reinforce its good behaviour – or perhaps your dog isn’t particularly food motivated. In these instances, there are plenty of other ways to reinforce good behaviour including playing together with your favourite dog toys or giving them a big cuddle.
